Celebrating 20 Years of Terms of Trade

July 2023 marked the twentieth anniversary of the requirement by regulator to develop agreed trading principles governing how the UK PSBs commission programmes from independent producers. These principles – the Terms of Trade (ToT) – paved the way for the transformation of the UK independent production sector from a cottage industry into a ‘jewel in the crown’ of the UK’s creative industries. In this report, we set out the journey that the sector has been on and celebrate the ToT.
